Hello, Andrew!

I am so glad I found your webpage (kind of late since you moved it to another website, so this one it's no longer getting updated).
I hope you are still doing great in Japan.
Your story is inspiring, and actually I want to do something like that in the future. To leave everything behind, after saving a few coins to jump into a life in Japan. I know for experience most of Americans who have tried to live abroad are successful to do so, but for most of latinos.. it's kinda hard. But I will try to do it anyway. Even if it doesn't work, even if I lose everything on the run, this experience is worth it.

So speaking of Visas and stuff like that, I wanted to ask you whether your employer did everything for you or they just signed the paperwork you collected by yourself? Is it too hard to go through all this immigration paperwork? Do you need an sponsor for your work visa, like in the US? I know this kind of questions might be easier to understand once I find a job in Japan, but anything you might want to answer will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance, and I hope I get to have the same luck as you did to get a job there in Japan.

Take care!

I think you got the job cause you went to collage to be an educator. Not everyone wants to be a teacher at least not enough to get a degree doing it.

That said, I think you had a great idea and planned it well to train as a teacher so you could get "in the door" and spend time emerged in the culture and language. kudos for having a logical plan and following through.

I saw your video online about how to get a job in Japan. I have been applying to places for about a month now but still haven't had any luck. I have a degree as well as some teaching experience and have applied to at least 50 places. It seems impossible to me sometimes to get a job in Japan but your video inspired me once again and I found your resume and cover letter to be very useful. I'm going to try and model mine similar to those. I'm always open to advice so feel free to shoot me an email if you have time.
Thanks!
