Mt. Sarakura: Fern Shadow
July 8th, 2010
Having camped and hiked a fair piece in the pine forests of the northeastern United States, Japan’s nature is much more enchanting by comparison. You can watch a Ghibli film like Princess Mononoke and get an inkling of what I mean. However, only when you walk through the cedar forests, come across the forgotten ancient statues, or arrive at the mountain peak shrines can you really grasp the uniqueness and beauty of this land.
