Dazaifu: Umegae-mochi
December 9th, 2010
The main shopping street (shotengai) in Daizaifu just outside the train station is crowded with quaint shops and delicious smells. One sweet not to miss is the freshly made umegae-mochi which are hot mochi (pounded rice dough) rolls, grilled and filled with sweet bean paste.
